GEA maintains a specialized staff of Civil & Environmental Engineers, Hydrogeologists,
Geologists and Solid Waste Management Professionals who provide comprehensive
environmental services to a variety of clients. This group specializes in services such as solid
waste management, design and construction management for new lined landfills, expansions and site closures, hydrogeologic and geologic site assessment and investigations, design and
implementation of soil and ground-water remediation systems, landfill gas investigations,
mitigation and energy recovery and compliance with permitting and reporting requirements.

Specific capabilities include site assessment procedures involving geophysical and geotechnical investigations, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, aquifer characterization, and computer modeling of hydraulic and contaminant properties. Comprehensive services are available for landfill site evaluation, design development, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction management. In addition, GEA provides permitting preparation and review services including solid waste landfill construction permits, Environmental Impact statements,
ground-water diversion, NJPDES, NPDES, and other NYSDEC and NJDEPE permits. For
clients with soil, ground-water, or surface water contamination, GEA provides innovative
remedial action designs and work plans followed by construction management services.

Landfill Design is conducted in AutoCAD using Eagle Point Digital Terrain Modeling and Civil
Engineering Design Software. Grading Plans, Base Liner Plans and Closure Plans are modeled
by computer and cross-sections are developed illustrating the design in various configurations.
Construction Drawings are produced digitally by AutoCAD Designers using GEA's in-house
library of engineering design details ranging from leachate collection and pumps to Stormwater Management to liner and capping details. Technical specifications are presented in CSI format or modified to suit special client requirements. With the advanced computer technology provided by the software, take-off quantities and cost estimates for construction are accurately delivered on a timely basis.
