GEA organized its Site Assessment Team in 1988 as a result of the increasing environmental responsibilities and liabilities associated with new environmental laws and regulations. GEA has become one of the leading consultants as a result of its experience in this area and has become increasingly involved with site assessment work on behalf of banks, lenders, insurers, property buyers and sellers. The Team includes a Principal with over 20 years of experience in the environmental field. Professional backgrounds of Project Team Leaders include civil and environmental engineering, chemical engineering, and environmental science. Project Staff is composed of engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, biologists and technicians. In addition, the Site Assessment Team has direct access to other specialized resources, including a certified laboratory, MIS support staff and trained field personnel. As a full service environmental engineering firm, GEA provides project design and management support for related needs which are frequently associated with audit projects. Professional support is available for stormwater, water supply, wastewater, industrial, hazardous and solid waste management. Other environmental support services include underground storage tank management and wetland/ecological evaluations and permitting. GEA, with direct participation by its Principal, is a member of the Water Environment Federation Aquatic Criteria, working with the USEPA to define the nation's water quality criteria and risk assessment program. GEA Site Assessment Experience includes approximately 80 projects and has performed site audits at locations across the country, with an emphasis on New York, New Jersey and the Northeast. Typical site audit clients include banks, hospitals, major lending institutions, developers, industries, law firms and insurers. The firm has worked with several Fortune 500 clients and institutions in the area. GEA performs site assessments in accordance with the latest ASTM protocols and is knowledgeable in all Federal, State and local regulations. As many real estate transactions must comply with wetlands, lead, radon and asbestos regulations, GEA has developed the capability to perform wetland assessments and delineations and environmental impact assessments and to design asbestos and lead abatement programs for its clients. GEA provides comprehensive solutions to problems posed by contamination, including innovations which provide cost savings for remediation, based on complete development and design of remedial alternatives. The depth of experience, personnel and technical resources available within GEA allows for the completion of complex projects in a minimum amount of time. Our experience and "hands on" project management approach allow for rapid project start-up and quick turnaround of projects while assuring high technical quality, an important factor for today's real estate community.
